2. Expected Behaviour
We expect all community members to:
- Give constructive feedback. When reviewing code, courses, or assets, focus on being helpful and specific rather than dismissive or vague.
- Credit others' work. Always attribute code, designs, tutorials, and other resources to their original creators.
- Ask questions. There are no silly questions. If you're unsure about something, ask — and be patient with those who do.
- Help others. If you have knowledge or experience that could benefit someone, share it generously.
- Report violations. If you see behaviour that violates these guidelines, report it so we can keep the community safe.
3. Prohibited Content & Behaviour
The following content and behaviour are strictly prohibited on UnityFreak. Violations may result in immediate action, up to and including permanent account termination:
- Harassment, bullying, and threats. Targeted attacks, intimidation, or sustained negative behaviour directed at any individual or group.
- Hate speech and discrimination. Content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Spam and self-promotion abuse. Excessive or irrelevant promotional content, unsolicited advertisements, or repeated posting of the same material across multiple areas.
- Plagiarism and intellectual property theft. Presenting someone else's work as your own, including code, tutorials, course content, or assets.
- Doxxing and sharing private information. Publishing or threatening to publish another person's private information, such as their real name, address, phone number, or email, without their consent.
- NSFW content. Sexually explicit, graphically violent, or otherwise inappropriate content that is not suitable for a professional development community.
- Scams and fraudulent services. Offering fake services, misleading listings, phishing, or any other form of fraud.
- Illegal activity. Content or behaviour that violates any applicable law or regulation, including but not limited to distributing malware, facilitating piracy, or promoting illegal substances.
4. Marketplace & Course Standards
All content published on the UnityFreak marketplace and course platform must meet the following standards:
- Accurate descriptions. Listings and course descriptions must accurately represent the content, features, and capabilities of the product or course being offered.
- Working code and templates. All code, templates, and assets must be functional as described. Known limitations or requirements must be clearly documented.
- No stolen or pirated content. All content must be original or properly licenced. Uploading stolen, pirated, or unauthorised content will result in immediate removal and potential account termination.
- Honest reviews only. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. Fake reviews, review manipulation, and review exchanges are prohibited.
5. Enforcement Actions
Violations of these guidelines are handled through an escalating enforcement policy; the actions below describe the outcomes we may apply. The severity of the action depends on the nature and frequency of the violation:
Level 1Warning
Issued for first-time minor violations. A written notice explaining the violation and expected behaviour going forward.
Level 2Temporary Restriction
May be applied for repeated minor violations. The user may be temporarily restricted from posting, commenting, and messaging.
Level 3Temporary Account Suspension (7 days)
May be applied for serious violations. The account may be suspended for 7 days, during which the user cannot log in or access platform features.
Level 4Temporary Account Suspension (30 days)
May be applied for severe or repeated serious violations. The account may be suspended for 30 days with a final warning that further violations can result in permanent removal.
Level 5Permanent Ban
Issued for egregious violations or persistent rule-breaking. The account is permanently terminated with no possibility of reinstatement. This includes all associated accounts.
UnityFreak reserves the right to skip enforcement levels and take immediate action (including permanent bans) for egregious violations such as threats of violence, hate speech, or illegal activity.
6. Appeals Process
If you believe a moderation action was taken against your account in error, you can appeal it.
- Submit your appeal through the moderation appeals page. You can have up to three appeals open at a time.
- Include a clear explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect or disproportionate.
- We review each appeal and tell you the outcome. If an automated check caused the decision, you can also ask for human review at [email protected].
7. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these Community Guidelines, please report it so our moderation team can take action:
- Use the report button available on any post, comment, profile, marketplace listing, job, service, event, group, newsletter, or snippet.
- Include specific details about the violation, including any relevant links or screenshots, to help our team investigate quickly.
- We review reports promptly. Reports of illegal content are prioritised. Our moderation team reviews reports and takes action based on these guidelines.
You can also report by email at [email protected] for urgent matters or reports that require additional context.
8. Legal Framework
Our content moderation policies and enforcement procedures are conducted in accordance with the Online Safety Act 2023 and Ofcom's codes of practice. UnityFreak uses automated checks on uploaded images, user reports and human review to identify and remove illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, terrorism content, fraud and hate speech.
If you believe content on the Platform poses an imminent risk of harm, please report it immediately using the report button or by contacting [email protected]. For copyright-related complaints, see our DMCA Policy.
