By accessing or using UnityFreak ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Nemesis Gaming, 61 Bridge Street, Kington, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom ("UnityFreak", "we", "us"), which operates the Platform. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account on UnityFreak. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and must provide your date of birth. If you are under 18 you can create an account and use the Platform without parental consent. Before you can make any payment, a parent or guardian must confirm consent through an emailed link. The one exception is a seller's payment link (a page on Stripe that takes a single payment): the payer is not required to sign in, so UnityFreak cannot check the payer's age or consent, and a payment link may be paid by someone under 18. Users under 18 cannot post jobs, hire for a project, enter contracts, list marketplace assets or services, apply for jobs, or receive payouts. Paid purchases require identity verification: buyers verify their identity through Stripe Identity before buying a course or an asset, or starting a subscription (including checking out a cart). Sellers and service providers verify through Stripe Connect before they can publish paid listings or receive payouts.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating your account, for any violation of these Terms.
We use a combination of automated technology and human review to find and act on content that breaks these Terms or the law. Images you upload are classified by automated image moderation, and images that are flagged are held back until a person has reviewed them. We do not currently hold a licensed list of known illegal imagery, so uploads are not compared with one at upload time; Cloudflare's CSAM Scanning Tool separately hashes images served through its cache. Illegal imagery that we confirm is removed and preserved as evidence, the uploader may be suspended, and our team files a report with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and, where applicable, with UK law enforcement. Section 2 of our Privacy Policy explains what is checked and what data is involved.
We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or end accounts, as set out in section 10 and in our Community Guidelines. Automated checks can make mistakes. If you think a decision was wrong, you can appeal it as described in sections 6 and 7 of the Community Guidelines, or ask for human review at [email protected]. To report content or behaviour, or to make a complaint, use the report button or the same address.
User-Generated Content. You retain ownership of content you create and upload to the Platform, including but not limited to forum posts, comments, project descriptions, articles, and profile information. By posting content, you grant UnityFreak a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform.
Source Code & Repositories. Repository content you push to UnityFreak's version control hosting is licensed to us solely to store, transmit, and display it back to you and those you grant access to — nothing more. We do not use repository content, in whole or in part, to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, whether ours or a third party's. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose repository content to third parties. We do not scan repository content for any purpose beyond operating the service (for example, malware/abuse detection, backups, and the search and indexing features you use directly). This commitment applies to private, internal, and public repositories alike, on every plan including Free.
Courses & Educational Content. Course creators retain intellectual property rights to their course materials. UnityFreak is granted a licence to host and deliver the content to enrolled students. Enrolled users may not redistribute, resell, or share course content without the creator's permission.
Asset Marketplace. Assets listed on the marketplace are subject to the licence terms specified by the asset creator. Buyers receive the licence as described in the asset listing. UnityFreak does not claim ownership of assets listed by third-party creators.
Platform Content. All content created by UnityFreak, including but not limited to the Platform design, logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of UnityFreak and is protected by intellectual property laws.
UnityFreak provides a marketplace that connects clients with freelancers and developers for project-based and employment engagements. UnityFreak acts as a platform facilitator and is not a party to any contract between clients and freelancers.
Buyers verify their identity through Stripe Identity before buying a course or an asset, or starting a subscription (including checking out a cart). Sellers and service providers verify through Stripe Connect before they can publish paid listings or receive payouts. Verification helps prevent fraud and supports our anti-money-laundering obligations. We do not currently charge a fee for identity verification.
Funding each milestone. The client funds each milestone in advance through Stripe. The funds are held in UnityFreak's Stripe platform account until the milestone is released or otherwise resolved under these Terms. When a milestone is released, UnityFreak instructs Stripe to transfer 90% of the milestone amount (less Stripe's payment processing and payout costs, which the freelancer bears, see section 6) to the freelancer's Stripe connected account and retains the 10% platform service fee, which is non-refundable. The client pays the milestone amount and nothing on top. Payments are processed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's terms of service.
Projects are divided into milestones agreed upon by both parties. Once a freelancer begins work on a milestone, the funds for that milestone are held for it. The milestone process is as follows:
Hourly contracts. On an hourly contract the client funds each week in advance. When the week ends, the amount earned for the approved hours (up to the amount funded) is settled as earned: it enters the same holdback period and UnityFreak review and release as a milestone. The part of the weekly funding that was not earned is refunded to the client once UnityFreak has reviewed and approved the refund.
Client Inactivity. If a client is inactive on an engagement for thirty (30) consecutive days while the freelancer remains active, the engagement is closed as abandoned. Funds for milestones the freelancer has already started are flagged for UnityFreak to review and, if approved, release to the freelancer. Funds for milestones the freelancer has not started are held for a dispute window; the client may file a dispute during that time, and if no dispute is open after ninety (90) days from the date the engagement is closed, UnityFreak retains those funds. Releases of funds under this paragraph are reviewed and approved by UnityFreak and are not automatic.
Both Parties Inactive. If neither the client nor the freelancer is active on an engagement for sixty (60) consecutive days, the engagement is closed as abandoned and the funds held for it are not refunded. They are held for the same dispute window, and if no dispute is open after ninety (90) days from the date the engagement is closed, UnityFreak retains them. The 10% platform service fee is non-refundable.
Cancelled Contracts. The same rule applies to funds that are still held for a contract that was cancelled: if no dispute is open ninety (90) days after the date of cancellation, UnityFreak retains those funds.
In the event of a dispute between a freelancer and a client, either party may file a dispute through the Platform. UnityFreak may offer mediation at its discretion but is not obligated to resolve disputes. Both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes in good faith before seeking external remedies. A client who wants a refund of funds held after an engagement was closed as abandoned should file a dispute within thirty (30) days after the engagement is closed. A dispute that is open ninety (90) days after the engagement is closed stops UnityFreak retaining the funds held for it.
The marketplace also supports long-term and ongoing engagements. These follow the same model as project-based work — UnityFreak connects the parties and Stripe processes payments. The only difference is payment frequency:
UnityFreak charges a platform service fee (10%, or the reduced rate shown on the freelancer's account) on freelance and employment transactions. This fee is calculated on each milestone or pay-period payment when it is funded, is retained by UnityFreak when the payment is released, and is non-refundable under all circumstances, including cancellation, dispute, or abandonment. All prices on UnityFreak are in US dollars.
Payments on UnityFreak are processed through Stripe. By making a purchase or subscribing to a plan, you agree to Stripe's terms of service in addition to these Terms.
Platform Service Fee. UnityFreak charges a platform service fee of 10% (or the reduced rate shown on your account) on creator transactions, including course sales, asset marketplace sales, freelance projects, and employment facilitation. This fee is deducted from the seller's proceeds at the point of sale; it is not added to the buyer's price. It is retained when a course or freelance payment is refunded (see the refund rules below). When UnityFreak approves a refund of a marketplace asset purchase, the full price is returned to the buyer. All prices on UnityFreak are in US dollars.
Payment Processing. Buyers pay the listed price plus any tax shown at checkout; no processing fee is added. Stripe charges payment processing on each sale (about 2.9% plus $0.30 of the amount paid) and Stripe Connect payout costs. Sellers bear these costs: they are deducted from the amount UnityFreak transfers to the seller when a payout is approved, and shown in the payout details. UnityFreak's platform service fee is always exactly the percentage stated above, calculated on the price before any processing or payout cost. UnityFreak absorbs the cost of processing payments for its own products, such as subscriptions, in their prices.
Tax Obligations (Marketplace). UnityFreak operates as a marketplace facilitator, not as a Merchant of Record (MoR). This means:
Subscriptions. Subscription plans automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds. Refund eligibility depends on the type of purchase:
Refund requests can be submitted from the purchase's page in your account or by contacting our support team. UnityFreak reviews and approves every refund before it is sent; a request is not a refund until it has been approved. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Stripe. Requests for the 14-day course refund and the subscription cooling-off refund are tracked against that 14-day period and flagged to our team when it is close.
Service listings. When you order a service, you pay by Stripe Checkout and UnityFreak holds the payment until you accept the delivery. When you accept, the seller receives 90% of the amount paid and UnityFreak keeps the 10% platform service fee. If the order is cancelled before you accept the delivery, a refund of the amount you paid is filed for you and sent once UnityFreak approves it. Once a payment has been released to the seller it can no longer be refunded through the order; contact support. Payouts to sellers and refunds to buyers are reviewed and approved by UnityFreak before they are sent, and a seller without a connected payout account is paid once they connect one.
Forum bounties. A bounty is paid in advance through Stripe and held by UnityFreak until it is awarded or expires. The platform service fee (10%, or the reduced rate that applies to the account of the person who wins the bounty) is worked out when the bounty is awarded and deducted before the winner is paid. Unless the poster chooses another period, a bounty expires after 7 days. Paying the winner, and refunding a bounty that expires or is refunded at the poster's or an admin's request, are payments out of the UnityFreak balance and are sent only after UnityFreak reviews and approves them.
Seller payouts. Earnings from course sales, asset sales (including carts, gifts and team licences), coaching sessions and payment links are recorded in your earnings balance and are held for 14 days (the holdback) before they become available. Tips are available immediately. To be paid you must have a connected Stripe payout account. The minimum payout is $10 and you can have one payout pending at a time. Payouts are held while a high-severity fraud flag is open on your account. When you request a payout, UnityFreak reviews and approves it before it is sent to your connected payout account. Your share of a cart sale is queued for UnityFreak's approval and can be sent only after the 14-day holdback.
Chargebacks and reversed payments. A buyer's bank can reverse a card payment (a chargeback) long after the holdback has ended. If a payment is reversed or a dispute over it is lost, you are responsible for the share of that payment that UnityFreak paid or owes to you, and for any dispute fee the card network or Stripe charges UnityFreak because of it. While a dispute is open, your earnings from the disputed payment that have not been paid are withheld. If the dispute is lost, they are cancelled. If you were already paid, UnityFreak may recover the amount from your connected payout account by reversing the transfer, and where that is not possible, deduct it from your later payouts. UnityFreak reviews and approves each recovery before it is made, and tells you when it happens. If the dispute is decided in UnityFreak's favour, the withheld earnings are released again.
Unclaimed earnings. Your earnings are yours until they are paid out, and you can claim them at any time: sign in, connect a payout account and request a payout. A balance becomes dormant when you have earnings that have not been paid out and you have not signed in, requested a payout, been paid or closed your account for 24 months. We email the address on your account after 21, 23 and 24 months, then once a year, and once more at 71 months, each time saying how much is waiting and how to claim it. We hold an unclaimed balance for you for 6 years from the last time you were active, even if you close or delete your account. If you delete your account while earnings are still owed to you, we keep the email address and name you had, only for this purpose and only while the balance remains, so that we can remind you. To claim a balance after your account was closed, contact us: we verify your identity first and send the money only to the payout account that was connected to your account. After the 6 years, UnityFreak may, to the extent the law allows, treat the balance as abandoned and keep it to cover the cost of holding it and administering your account. Where the law requires us to hold a balance longer, return it to the person who paid, or send it to a public authority as unclaimed property, we will do that instead. If the last address we have for you is in the United States, the law of your state may require us to report your balance and send it to that state's unclaimed-property program sooner than 6 years, often after about 3 years of inactivity. We email you before we do, and again once it is sent. The money is still yours, and you can claim it from the state. UnityFreak decides each case itself and records the decision; nothing is kept automatically.
UnityFreak offers live streaming features for educational and community content. By using the streaming functionality, you agree to the following:
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, UnityFreak and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Platform.

You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings.
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or via email. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

UnityFreak uses Stripe Connect as its payment processor for all marketplace transactions, including freelance projects, employment payments, course sales, and asset sales. For freelance milestones and employment pay periods, the funds are held in UnityFreak's Stripe platform account until released, and UnityFreak instructs Stripe to transfer them to the recipient's connected account as described in Section 5. UnityFreak does not act as a bank, financial institution or licensed payment service provider, and these arrangements are not an independent escrow service.
Platform Role. UnityFreak acts solely as a marketplace facilitator. UnityFreak is not a party to any freelance contract or employment arrangement formed through the Platform and assumes no liability for the performance, quality, or outcome of any engagement. UnityFreak's role is limited to connecting parties and instructing Stripe to process payments based on milestone completions and other platform events.
Stripe Terms. All payment processing, including escrow holds, disbursements, and refunds, is governed by Stripe's Terms of Service. By using payment features on the Platform, you agree to be bound by Stripe's terms in addition to these Terms.
Limitation. UnityFreak is not responsible for payment failures, processing delays, or any interruptions to Stripe's services. Disputes regarding payment processing should be directed to Stripe. Section 6 sets out who bears the cost of a chargeback on a sale.
Informal Resolution. Before initiating any formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least thirty (30) days. Most concerns can be resolved quickly through direct communication.
Mediation. If informal resolution is unsuccessful, either party may refer the dispute to mediation administered by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) under its mediation procedures. Mediation costs shall be shared equally between the parties unless the mediator directs otherwise.
Court Proceedings. If the dispute is not resolved through mediation within sixty (60) days of the mediation request, either party may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales in accordance with Section 18 (Governing Law).
Consumer Rights. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable consumer protection legislation. You always retain the right to bring claims in the courts of your country of residence where permitted by law.
By uploading, posting, or otherwise making content available on the Platform, you represent and warrant that:
UnityFreak reserves the right to remove any content that is believed to be in violation of these warranties without prior notice. Repeated violations may result in account termination under our repeat infringer policy.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to the dispute resolution process in Section 16, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and UnityFreak regarding your use of the Platform. These Terms supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral, relating to the subject matter hereof.
